Projeto Raiz: a website for an NGO to attract donations and volunteers
A website for a non-governmental organisation, presenting its social projects, raising donations and recruiting volunteers.
Self-initiated project · Website · HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Context and problem
Self-initiated project: a fictional brief I wrote for practice, treated as if it came from a real client — with audience, goal and constraints defined before any code.
The brief: an NGO with meaningful social projects but no digital presence of its own. Interested donors and volunteers had no way to learn about the work or how to help.
The goal was to build credibility and turn visits into donations and volunteer sign-ups.
My responsibility
- End-to-end project: structure, design, development and deployment.
Solution
The mission and projects, calls to donate and an area for people who want to volunteer.
Architecture decisions
- An impact-first narrative (the problem, the project and the result) before asking for a donation.
- Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript: free or near-free hosting, which matters for an NGO.
Stack
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
Results
- A clear path to donate or volunteer
- Near-zero maintenance cost
