Igreja da Esperança: a website for a local church community
A website for a neighbourhood church, with service times, a photo gallery, location and a contact form backed by Firebase.
Self-initiated project · Website · HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Context and problem
Self-initiated project: a fictional brief I wrote for practice, treated as if it came from a real client — with audience, goal and constraints defined before any code.
The brief: a neighbourhood church that only communicates through social media and messaging groups. First-time visitors struggle to find service times, the address or how to reach the leadership.
The goal was a simple, easy-to-maintain site that answers those questions in seconds and feels welcoming.
My responsibility
- End-to-end project: information architecture, design, development and deployment.
Solution
A single page with services and times, a community photo gallery, a location map and a contact form.
Form messages stored in Firebase, with no server to maintain.
Architecture decisions
- Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript: a light, fast site that is cheap to host for a small organisation.
- Firebase for the form and hosting.
Stack
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Firebase
Results
- Essential information (services, address, contact) reachable in seconds
- Site live and easy to maintain
